Good morning,

Our package, CBN2Path, was just accepted to BioConductor. To clarify, can
we just keep maintaining the repositories as we did during the submission
process (pushing to upstream main:devel) or do we have to do something
else? Will the release build be automatically generated from the devel
branch? Additionally, is there a way for us to verify that a push has been
received and that a build has commenced? Thank you!

Best regards,

Yes you can use the same process. Please note that there are always two branches of Bioconductor active at any given time. In the submission process you were pushing to devel Bioconductor. There is also a given release branch active (eg. RELEASE_3_22) . We only recommend pushing to the release branch for bug corrections or to fix the package if it is ERRORing on our system on that branch. The release branch is created automatically by the Bioconductor core team from the current devel branch.

To verify a push received:

  1.
You could clone in a fresh repo
  2.
Check code.bioconductor.org
  3.
Wait 24-48 hours for it to appear on the build report https://bioconductor.org/checkResults/
  4.

The build report will have the information on the git commit hash that it is associating with its build and when the snapshot date of the package was taken on the individual report page https://bioconductor.org/checkResults/3.22/bioc-LATEST/CBN2Path/

Hope that helps

Cheers,
