Not that I'm aware of. What package were you trying to install and
what was the exact error message you received? Is the problem resolved
now?

R-Rgraphviz is the package I am trying to install.

But there are some other packages that timeout during installation, even
from cran:

Which CRAN mirror are you using?

[R-mboost]
[hgu133a.db]
[spatstat]
[RBGL]

R-Rgraphviz is the one that timeouts on every try.

You mean Rgraphviz?

And what is the error message you are seeing? And what is the output of
sessionInfo()?
