The Bioconductor development wiki now contains an updated release schedule for the BioC 2.3 release: http://wiki.fhcrc.org/bioc/BioC_2.3_Release_Schedule BioC 2.3 is projected to be released on 22 October. From a package maintainer standpoint the two biggest dates are 8 October (package build and check without error) and 15 October (package build and check with no or limited pre-approved warnings). Please check the BioC 2.3: Multiple platform build/check report http://bioconductor.org/checkResults/2.3/bioc-LATEST/ frequently to ensure your package is meeting these requirements. There has been a flurry of development activities over the past few weeks that have reduced the number of package build and check warnings and errors. (Thanks for all your efforts!) For those of you who haven't had a chance to bring your packages into the green, please do so at your earliest convenience. There are a relatively large number of warnings related to missing documentation that are easy to correct and now would be a good point to briefly shift your focus from software development to documentation writing. The Bioconductor development community has been very productive over the past half-year. BioC 2.3 has seen the introduction of 25 packages to its manifest since the BioC 2.2 release (ArrayTools, CGHbase, CGHregions, CMA, DFP, domainsignatures, dualKS, edgeR, HELP, IRanges, ITALICS, iterativeBMA, iterativeBMAsurv, logitT, LPEadj, MEDME, microRNA, minet, miRNApath, multiscan, PLPE, RpsiXML, ShortRead, SIM, spkTools) and more packages will be added before the 1 October deadline. We will easily pass the 27 package increase from BioC 2.1 -> BioC 2.2 releases and could come close to the record 32 package increase from BioC 1.3 -> BioC 1.4. Congratulations on all your hard work and let's make this the cleanest Bioconductor release ever. Patrick
