[Bioc-devel] kjohnson3 alternates between OK and 'Error' for build check

Hi,

I am the maintainer of the R package MultiRNAflow.
I recently pushed an update of my package.

My package passed the install and build check realized by the computers
- *nebbiolo2* [Linux (Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS) / x86_64]
- *lconway* [macOS 12.7.6 Monterey / x86_64]

My package pass the install check for *kjohnson3* [macOS 13.7.7 Ventura /
arm64] and *taishan* [Linux (openEuler 24.03 LTS) / aarch64] but the build
check alternates between 'OK' and 'ERROR' for the last 7-8 days for
*kjohnson3*.

The error message is

*Running 'texi2dvi' on 'MultiRNAflow_vignette-knitr.tex'
failed.Messages:/opt/R/arm64/bin/texi2dvi: biber failed*

It seems *kjohnson3* and *taishan *struggle with bibliography when pdf is
created.

Why my package pass successfully *nebbiolo2* and *lconway* check but
alternates between 'OK' and 'ERROR' for *kjohnson3* ?

Sincerely yours,

Hi Rodolphe,

I'm not sure why there is some fluxuation. I see that it is currently passing on kjohnson3. I've tagged taishan's maintainer on the #arm-linux channel of our Zulip, which you are welcome to follow at https://community-bioc.zulipchat.com/#narrow/channel/507633-arm-linux/topic//with/545824051.

Hi Andres,

Thank you for your answer. When I realized the first push on the 10th of
October (1.7.1), I think the problem for kjohnson3 and taishan was how I
called the bibliography in my .Rnw vignette (even if I still don't know why
it was a problem only on kjohnson3 and taishan). So I changed the method,
which is the same used by the Bioconductor package BiocStyle. The new push
realized on the 20th of October (1.7.2) seems to work because kjohnson3
does not alternate between 'OK' and 'ERROR' anymore. I do not know yet if
this new method works on taishan because "build" is still fixed on (1.7.1)
unlike "install". But I suppose I will have the answer tonight or tomorrow.

I just hope my package will not be considered deprecated.

Sincerely yours,

Rodolphe
