[Bioc-devel] New version of rmspc - error

Dear Community,

I submitted a recent version of the rmspc package following an update we
made to package. I followed the guidelines specified when updating a
bioconductor package.

However, I didn't get an automatic email when I pushed the updated package
to Bioconductor and I don't see those changes reflected in the latest built
report ( I'm getting a Build Error in all the servers . I did bump to a new
version of the package.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you for your help!

Best,

After a package is submitted to Bioconductor it runs on the daily build and not on demand builds that occurred during the submission process.
I'm not sure which build report you are looking but the devel is still ERRORing across all platforms with the latest version that is pushed to git.bioconductor.org.

https://bioconductor.org/checkResults/devel/bioc-LATEST/rmspc/

The version bump is included.

Hi Lori,

I see that the error in all servers is *System command 'dotnet' failed, *which
means this is an issue related to .NET. Our team mistakenly updated the
package to use .NET 9.0 instead of NET 8.0 as instructed by the
bioconductor team, which I think is causing the issue. Do you maybe have
plans to update the .NET used in the servers to .NET 9.0 ? If not, I can
instruct the team to update the software to downgrade to .NET 8.0.

Please let me know what works best for you!

Thank you very much for your help!

Best,
Meriem

Hi,

I've installed .NET 9 at kunpeng2 and taishan machines. The next builds
should be fine/better !

Martin

Hi Meriem,

I can try to update the devel builders with dotnet 9.x later this week. I'll follow up when complete or if there are issues.

Hi Martin,

Thank you very much for your quick response! I see that the package was
successfully installed and built on kunpeng2, which means the issue for the
error in the other servers was indeed the difference in .NET version.

I appreciate your help!

Best,
Meriem

Hi Andres,

Thank you so much for looking into this, that would be great!

Can I go ahead and update the documentation of rmspc to reflect the new
change, i.e, that we're using .NET 09?

Thank you!

Best,
Meriem
