legends of barplots

Friedrich Leisch 
is there a hidden reason why the legend in barplot is in reverse order
(i.e. from bottom to top?). if nobody cares I would change it to the
usual top to bottom.

and while I'm at it: wouldn't it be more natural if in a horizontal
barplot things are also sorted from top to bottom?
