windows build

it seems that my problem once again was a leftover cygwin1.dll
in another directory which is NOT in the path.

i think we had a report about this problem
on the list some days ago.

after renaming ALL cygwin1.dll's 
except the one in the directory with brian's tools
things worked smoothly again.
