Small bug in install.packages?

[1] "C:/Program Files/R/R-2.13.0/bin/i386"
Weird. ?Like others, I see 8.3 pathnames. ?R gets those from a Windows call; what version of Windows are you using?
... and how are you starting R? ?Startup goes through some contortions to handle all the different possibilities; maybe one of them is missing the path-shortening step.
