Jon, I don't have access to a Mac Pro, so I can't test anything, but based on your report I found a bug in R_system that affects signal handling during "system" calls on Macs. Please test the current R-devel (39754) or R-2-4-branch (39755) to see if it solves your problem. Thanks, Simon
