Problem testing R version 1.3.1 on SGI Irix (PR#1145)

I've compiled R verison 1.3.1 on SGI Irix 6.5

   It fails its check when running the ts-Ex.Rout test with:

Error in ar.yw.mts(x, aic = aic, order.max = order.max, na.action =
na.action,  : 
        On entry to DGEMM  parameter number 1 had an illegal value
Execution halted
=====

   It was compiled with gcc 2.95.2 (and the g77 which came with that,
which is 0.5.25).
