Using konqueror with help.start

For R-1.2.3 on a Debian 2.3 (testing) GNU/Linux system I would like to have help.start use Konqueror (the KDE web browser) instead of netscape. I can start it with
help.start(browser = "konqueror")
but trying to search for terms from the search page does not work.
My guess is that I need to configure javascript. The default is not to allow javascript at all. I do not wish to enable javascript globally. Under Settings->Configure Konqueror->Javascript I have set accept for the localhost Host/domain. This does not seem to help.
Can anyone give instructions on how I can allow searching without globally enabling javascript?
This is important to me because there is a long-standing wishlist bug against the Debian r-base package that I could close if I could use show that Konqueror could be used instead of netscape.
Hmm ... I raised the issue about help.start() support for browsers other than netscape a few weeks ago. I seem to recall that as neither mozilla (bug) nor konqueror (feature?) can be controlled remotely in the way netscape does, we decided to not pursue this any further. It seems that all you want is getting help.start() to work and use the Java search engine, but what good would this be? The next help() would not be able to display HTML output in the same konqueror windows ... -k -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
