[1] 10957 wheras backformatting in the print method failed
dates("12/31/1999", format='m/d/y')
[1] 12/31/99
dates("01/01/2000", format='m/d/y')
[1] 01/01/100 thus I tend to see it as a bug, because it may break old code. Still, I don't know whether it is approbriate to send a bug report to r-bugs@lists.r-project.org ?
