As you may have noticed, the configure/make mechanism has undergone further substantial changes. The idea is that (maybe setting a few shell variables) and then doing configure; make; make install should work ``as much as possible''. I don't have access to most platforms and cc/f77/make combinations. What I am looking for is volunteers in r-devel, BUT NOT IN r-core, who are willing to ``support'' certain cpu-vendor-os cc/f77/make `platforms' in the sense that they regularly try to recompile the current (devel and maybe also release) versions for their platform and let me know whether everything is fine or what needs to be fixed. Any volunteers? (Note that the PLATFORMS file in the R distribution is a good start, but I'd really like to keep the info in it as up-to-date as possible ...) -k -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
