OK, I took the PROTECT() out of the line I added since it was already protected. Now I don't get the stack imbalance message, and "Machines" prints out without seg fault. But, I had to change "static SEXP coerceToString()" to just "SEXP coerceToString()". Does that cause any problems? Otherwise the linker was not resolving the call to coerceToString from printarray.c file. Again the would the best place to coerce to string in dataframe.c file?
