R/S-Plus incompatibility in segments()

There seems to be an incompatibility in the argument names of segments().

In Splus:

USAGE:

segments(x1, y1, x2, y2)

In R:

Usage:

segments(x0, y0, x1, y1,
         col = par("fg"), lty = par("lty"), lwd = par("lwd"), ...)

Any particular reason ? Should I report this as a bug ? (This is currently
messing up some nlme plot methods which uses lsegments() from lattice)
