Howdy! According to help(points) setting the bg parameter should set the background fill color for open plot symbols. But when I tried out (R-1.2.1 on Linux and Mac) e.g. points(1,1,bg="white") I could always see through the "O". Is this a bug or am getting something wrong? I believe it refers only to pch=21:25, as described about 10 lines further up. Certainly pch=1 is the outline of a cicrle, not a filled circle. I've made this explicit in the documentation.
