I have one more nitpick, if I may: summary(aov.obj) prints significance *'s but doesn't print the legend at the bottom explaining their meaning (it is not parallel with summary(lm.obj) Question: Is this kind of nitpicking feedback useful (if so I'd be glad to continue to keep notes and send them as I'm using/playing with R, and please there is no need for you to answer or give workarounds, since none of this really prevents getting results)? Or does it just get in the way of more important stuff (in which case I'll quite the nitpicking and only report if I get a real problem)?
In general, it is useful. It's especially the smaller things that we tend to overlook. The best place to send them is the R-devel list, though - if you send them to a single person they may get lost. E.g. significance stars are really Martin Maechlers pet. (I'll Cc: this particular note to R-devel).
