See ?trellis.device. Note that if you want to print stuff, you should use the postscript or pdf device, in which case you should automatically get what you want.
I'm also plotting two groups and would like to use circles and triangles as the plot characters.
If you are unhappy with what you get after reading ?trellis.device, you could supply the pch, e.g. dotplot(..., pch = 1:2) Deepayan
