I don't know anything about this, but I will say something obvious: when
trying something new, use a toy problem that is very small and simple. So
have you tried this with an SPSS file that is something like
x y
1 4
2 5
3 6
Then you can see if you are proceeding correctly and move on to an example
that is closer to where you want to wind up.
