Shorten your PATH, please, as it's the same problem as rwinst.exe. It needs to be less than 264 chars. Alternatively, get http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/bdr/RWin/Rpre/rw1021sp.zip and extract Rcmd.exe from it (but please don't use anything else).
Ok I can do that (get the new file) no problem. I don't understand the relation with rwinst.exe. I've install R1020 with rwinst and it worked fine with the same environment PATH string. I just updated it to the new R location and did the same to RHOME. I even used it again to add packages with no problems. But rcmd doesn't even start and you say that rwinst should not work either with this long path is that it? Regards Yves Gauvreau PS. I got the new rcmd.exe as you suggested and it works fine now.
