Why do i get "Error: unexpected input in "A<-lm(GandW ~ Authocracy, Data)"

I see the character (octal) 021 at the end of that error message (when
I save it as *.txt file from wordpad). 
  Error: unexpected input in "A<-lm(GandW ~ Authocracy,Data) "
