As I already have informed you folks, I have installed R-1.1.1 on
RedHat 7.0 from source, without any problems. Besides that some on
this list seemed to worry about the warnings the gcc compiler
issued. Nevertheless, I haven' noticed any anomalies with the
installed R. Haven't been hard-testing, though.
RH 7.0 comes with gcc 2.96, which, according to gcc.gnu.org, "is not
a formal GCC release nor will there ever be such a release. Rather,
GCC 2.96 has been the code-name for our development branch that will
eventually become GCC 3.0". Should this make us 7.0 users nervous?
