ms function

R -users

Is anyone familiar with the ms function in Splus? I think this is a
general optimization tool (i.e., ML estimation). Is there a corresponding
function in R?

If your question is whether there is a general optimisation tool in R,
the answer is yes.  help(optim) will give you more information
