help in preparing data for using the package SURVEY

First: It is spelled "survey"
I have installed the package and started studying it, but I find difficulties in understanding how to prepare my data (I actually have them in a MYSQL database) for the analysis with R. Is there any tutorial to help me in organiziing my data ?
If you type: help(pac=survey) ... an Index page should pop up and if you follow the link: "? User guides, package vignettes and other documentation." it should lead you two 5 different tutorials.
