read file of EXCEL format

there are several possibilities to import data in Excel format.
you can use the fonctions "odbcConnectExcel","read.xls", ...
(see http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-data.html)

require(RODBC)
?odbcConnect

library(gdata)
?read.xls
