Maybe your disc is full or a package is already in use and one of its
files is locked? Unfortunately, we don't know which packages comes
after "AlgDesign", because of the bug in
sprintf(gettext("unable to move temp installation '%d' to '%s'"))
you just have discovered.
Thanks to all the replies. After some playing around I found the solution which is a simple reboot after updating to R 2.1. Have a nice week, Bernd
