if this post gets added to the original thread,
then i've found no way to initiate a new thread by 
clicking the reply button

had no idea that this behaviour occurred.  wonder 
how many archives (other email lists) are "corrupted" 
because of this behaviour?

oh well, a little wiser today i guess !
