Start with ?INSTALL, and find more details in the Writing R Extensions manual. I believe RStudio can be configured to use those tools rather than the devtools ones, but I don't know if it will still run its test for Rtools if you do it that way. I imagine you can also update RStudio and all of your packages; eventually that will work, if this is really the issue. Duncan Murdoch
