It does. Thank you very much for the detailed answer. R is a great piece of software, but the library is huge, and it takes quite some time just to start getting a grasp of what's available.
Thank you for your kind comments. I absolutely agree with you. R is a splendid piece of software but it does take some learning. I have just moved over to R after using EpiInfo, STATA, EGRET, and (on occasion SPSS) and I am still confused. I guess that it sort of clicks after a while once you get into the R way of working. I take the starting position that "all things are possible in R" (and that is about right) and then ask "What sort of structures are being used in similar functions in R?". I find that they are usually well described and shared between many different functions. So once you get the your functions to return a standard data structure you can plug into all the R default print and summary functions.
