Subject: installing spsurvey, rgeos on Ubuntu
Dear R People:
I'm trying to install spsurvey and rgeos in R-2.15.1 on Ubuntu 12.04.
However, I am getting the following:
* installing *source* package ?rgeos? ...
** package ?rgeos? successfully unpacked and MD5 sums checked
checking geos-config usability... ./configure: line 1342: geos-config:
command not found
no
configure: error: geos-config not usable
ERROR: configuration failed for package ?rgeos?
* removing ?/home/erin/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library/2.15/rgeos?
ERROR: dependencies ?deldir?, ?rgeos? are not available for package ?spsurvey?
* removing ?/home/erin/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library/2.15/spsurvey?
Do these look familiar please?
