Exactly what is ESS for the Emacs?
From CRAN:
"Emacs speaks Statistics (ESS), an Emacs-Lisp interface to interactive statistical programming and data analysis languages, including: S dialects (such as R), LispStat dialects and SAS."
I'm currently using R-WinEdt and found it to be very good.
Thank you!
I've also got Emacs/XEmacs under my Linux OS. However I can't figure out what ESS for the Emacs is. Is it just for Windows and how can I get/install it?
No, not only for windows. It works with the emacs (on linux, solaris, windows, ...). For example you'll get it at: - http://ess.stat.wisc.edu - http://CRAN.R-Project.org/src/other/ess/ The installation is decribed in the readme.
