Transferring data from S+ to R

.....
This won't work for LARGE data sets, say a matrix of object.size() greater
than 1 MB, or for large lists, etc. In R source will need far too many cons
cells, and, porting data from R to S, source will generate memory leaks in
the S process.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this task: porting large and possibly
structured data from R to S and vice versa?

regards
