What about a Unix system without a compiler? ;)
With less than 50Mb of usefull software, you can compile and gain more
performance than generic bin for your own stats.
Look at:
install.packages -> es. install.packages("Rcmdr")
update.packages() -> es. update.packages()
library() -> es. library(car), library(lattice)
