Hi Maria,
I suggest starting with the by() function. Here is an example to get
you started:
by(mtcars$mpg,
INDICES = mtcars[c("cyl", "am")],
FUN = function(x) {
list(summary = summary(x),
mean.CI95 = confint(lm(x ~ 1))),
})
