R crash:segmentation fault,core dump: all lost?

Hi!

A segmentation fault occurred while R was doing the
following:

stream <- openstream("/home/alobo/imorm/chim.ref.new2")
a <- readint(stream, n=434616/2,size = 2, signed = F)

a <- readint(stream, n=434616/2,size = 2, signed = F)
Segmentation fault

Have I lost all objects made and not saved yet to .RData?
