I am getting more and more useful and interesting code in Fortran90 that I would like to incorporate into my R libraries. I am currently working on one that does two levels of nesting for binary data (3 level hierarchical model). This is a great deal of work. Does anyone know of a public domain Fortran90 compiler. I am doubtful, given the number of years it took for g77 to reach a minimal standard. Jim
I found a free f90 compiler for "x86 Linux systems" at http://www.psrv.com/ Haven't tried it myself, though.
The free version of this compiler cannot be used to develop applications that will be used by someone else, which is a fairly major restriction. It also isn't complete Fortran 90. The NAG compiler is fairly cheap, but I don't know of a free one.
