Rgnome produces errors?

I'm totally confused by the following: 1. I start R simply by typing R on the shell and the following works with no problems:
library(MASS) a <- lda(x=mod23puriflda[,2:5],grouping=mod23puriflda[,6],CV=F) summary(a)
Length Class Mode prior 23 -none- numeric counts 23 -none- numeric means 92 -none- numeric scaling 16 -none- numeric lev 23 -none- character svd 4 -none- numeric N 1 -none- numeric call 4 -none- call 2. Instead, I start R in the gnome gui (R -g GNOME &) and this is what I get:
library(MASS) a <- lda(x=mod23puriflda[,2:5],grouping=mod23puriflda[,6],CV=F)
Error in lda.default(x = mod23puriflda[, 2:5], grouping = mod23puriflda[,
:
length of dimnames[2] not equal to array extent
In addition: Warning message:
variables are collinear in: lda.default(x = mod23puriflda[, 2:5], grouping
= mod23puriflda[,
How can the gnome gui have any effect on the result of an R command?
It can't. You will need to give a reproducible example if you want more help.
