Issue installing packages - Linux
Hello Lara, I recently installed a number of packages through compiling. After downloading the package using 'wget', running R CMD INSTALL package.tar.gz should work. Sincerely, Shouro

I?ve also tried from the shell (after downloading the package source)
$ R CMD INSTALL bitops_1.0-6.tar.gz
ERROR: cannot extract package from bitops_1.0-6.tar.gz
