More accurately, 'like integer' ('numeric' often means 'double').
I learned that somewhere but it is not mentioned in help page for ?logical so it is not so easy to find.
Hmm: it *is* in 'An Introduction to R'.
Well, I have read it about 10 years ago so I remember the fact but not the source. However spending few hours by reading introduction can prevent many question from novice user (I mean that the beginner shall spend it, not yoursef :-). Petr
