layout/split.screen but I found it confusing.

Me too.  I conjecture that *everybody* finds it confusing, except maybe 
Paul M., and I'm not so sure about him! :-)

However it *is possible* to fight your way through the help. 
Experimenting is useful!  And when you succeed in fighting your way 
through, it works *well*.  (Not "good"!!!)
