I want advise on which gcc-version to upgrade to on my RH7.1 Linux: Redhat announces a new version (mainly fixing bugs), and at the same time I see gcc-3.0 released (at gcc.gnu.org). Any suggestions? I could try installing gcc-3.0 and R-1.3.0 if noone else already have.
gcc 3.0 works for me as an upgrade on RH6.2, and compiles R-1.3.0 on both Linux and Solaris. I'd go for 3.0.
