Installation of R version 3.1.0

But you did not install it ... see the 'R Installation and Administration Manual' which file INSTALL directed you to. You are missing some variant on 'make install'.
Now i can see a bin folder under R-3.1.0 which has R. On the terminal when I use R it still gives me R version 3.0.0 RC (2013-03-28 r62434) -- "Masked Marvel" Copyright (C) 2013 The R Foundation for Statistical Computing Platform: i686-pc-linux-gnu (32-bit) R is free software and comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
