printing graphics window on Mac OS 9.2
I'm a long time user of R, but I'm not a regular Mac user. I am now teaching in a room with a dozen Macs and I'm having a problem printing the graphics window. I'm using R 1.5.1 precompiled for Mac OS on Blue G3s with Mac OS 9.2. When I have the macintosh graphics device selected and use File, Print from the menu system, the OS attempts to print, but the machine hangs after a few minutes. The mouse and keyboard freeze and the only means of proceeding is by a hardware reset. The printer does apparently receive some data judging by the lights on its front panel, but nothing is printed. Does printing the graphics window from the R menu system generally work on the Macs or should I stick to using a postscript device? The Mac documentation mentioned some problem with the Adobe type manager, but I'm not sure how to check this on the Mac. Is this possible a problem with the type manager? By the way, I can print text from the R console or other text windows without problem. And I can copy the graphics to Word and print from there with no problem.
