R rpm for Mandriva 2008.1 ?

The problem I have with using the Mandriva package system for R is
that the base installation is seriously outdated at 2.6.2 (when we are
now at 2.7.2). The range of packages available through the Mandriva
repositories is also far from comprehensive.

FWIW there's a 2.7.2 package for the development version of mandriva. It
shouldn't be difficult to build it for 2008.1 from the source RPM.
