OT: ps -> eps -> MS Word
In windows (98) I've had problems with eps/bmp/emf with resolution when trying to paste into word (not just with R graphics but with SAS graphics as well). By accident two weeks ago I learned that writing the graphic in PNG format results in very little resolution loss. It may work in for you too, at least until you find a more permanent strategy. I frequently go R/SPlus -> Illustrator -> Word without loss of resolution.
