html command index

There is a separate alphabetical index for each package, including base.
There isn't an overall index, but it's usually fairly easy to guess which
package is relevant.

Look under "Packages".

Furthermore I do no longer find an online documentation on the R project
website.

The help pages are still there 

Oh sorry, I overlooked it.

(and the search engine seems to work).
