lattice (!under development!) font curiosity

Interesting.

I have similar but different problems.
Using a redhat 6.2 version about whose X-fonts paths I've been having big
doubts for a long time;
Anyway, here is what I get
  {for lattice-started X11();
   by the way, with postscript() I do get pretty nonsense ..}

Use trellis.device():
 
 trellis.device("postscript")
 require(lattice)
 xyplot(rnorm(10) ~ rnorm(10) ,main=list("???dsa",cex=6))# Cyrillic
again
 dev.off()

Not really nonsense, but 2 pages of output, the first blank, the second
with the expected result on WinNT.
