Not nice. Would it be possible for you to send your .RData file to us
or place it somewhere where we can get at it?

BTW: does it work if you move .RData to another name, start R and
load() the file in?

No, unfortunately it does not work. Here's the error message (similar to
the previous one):

load(".crashRData")

Error in load(file, envir) : unable to open file
