is in the process of code cleaning (as soon as I finish off a protocol
and a small analysis).

I'd like to clean up the documentation before I release 5.1.8, but
that might just wait for 5.1.9, if it's urgent enough.

First, get ESS 5.1.6 (or 5.1.7 if it's out).  Some of the roughness is now
gone.  Part of the difficulty in 5.1.3 is that it was written for rw0632 and
the later rw0633pre fixed the R side of the problems.

Also, with 5.1.6, essd-r32 is obsolete.  It is merged into the R function and
should work out-of-the-box.

the bash problem was with rw0632.  The R folks fixed that in 63.
