Does anyone have any experience using R to pull/push data from an ODBC compliant database? I'm working on a small project and am undecided about whether to use just R or use some other software for extracting and transforming. TIA Samir. ODBC Connectivity

I've tried RODBC on both SQL Server and Access databases only to read in some data. I think especially if the size of your data sets is relatively small then RODBC will do the job. The only complaint I would have is the speed at which it runs but again this is a generic tool, it is flexible enough and relatively efficient for all the work it does. If you have particular needs and speed is critical then you would probably want something faster. Hope this helps YG ----- Original Message ----- From: "Samir Mishra" <samir.mishra at norkom.com> To: "R-Help (E-mail)" <r-help at lists.R-project.org> Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2000 7:05 AM Subject: [R] ODBC Connectivity
